Template:Infobox AnimalThe Zebra Pleco is a small species of freshwater plecostomus found only in Endless Ocean 2.

In-Game Description

"This beautiful catfish has black-and-white stripes all over its body that give it its name."

Location

Zebra plecos are seen only in Blue World, in the Upstream section of the Cortica River at coordinates B-3.

Behavior

They are found in small groups of two or three, only under zoom-mode glows. They respond well to being fed.

Notes

Real-Life Information

  • Currently, due to habitat destruction and overfishing for aquarium exports, the zebra pleco is listed as endangered, and may soon be extinct in the wild. Partially due to this rarity, as well as the fact that it is banned for export by the Brazilian government, its price - both legally and on the black market - is expensive.
  • In terms of environmental conditions, these fish are delicate, as they cannot survive in still or dirty water. They require a fast current and clean water to thrive.
  • Another common name for this creature is the zebra altimira pleco or just zebra altimira.
  • The zebra pleco is a carnivore and subsists primarily off of small invertebrates, like bug larvae. In captivity, it can also subsist off of bloodworms.
  • The reported maximum size for these fish ranges from about 2.5 inches (or about 6.35 centimeters) to about 4 inches (about 10 centimeters).
