Ship's Rest is a sub-stage in Endless Ocean. It is accessed by entering the Pirate Ship that mysteriously floats around Manoa Lai.
During the player's first visit, "E Pari Ra" by Hayley Westenra plays in the background. It is then unlocked for subsequent dives in any location.

Local Life[]
Despite the concept of dangerous creatures not being introduced until the sequel, Ship's Rest is described in-game as "dangerous", no thanks to the abundance of shark species that reside here.
There are many unique creatures that call this place their home, and are not found anywhere else in the game. These include great white sharks (who are far more prevalent at night), Bering wolffish, and banded houndsharks. Two more prevalent residents include an orca, who patrols the area during the daytime; and the mythical Magu Tapa, who roams about by night. These two are discovered after the player finds the Life Beads and the Shark Tooth Necklace, respectively.
During the nighttime, the life around Ship's Rest changes. As well as the aforementioned Magu Tapa, tasselled wobbegongs can be found on the seafloor near the ship, and Pelagic thresher sharks patrol the area near the Fighter Wreckage. Banded houndsharks also now appear on the deck of the ruined ship instead of just inside of it. Asian sheepshead wrasse can also be found to the west of the Navier. Other, less notable changes in residence occur as well, amongst the smaller fish that call Ship's Rest home.
A group of manta rays appear only during the day and travel on a straight path, which starts at the stern of the Navier and goes straight past it, into the open ocean.
Location and Geography[]
The player can access Ship's Rest through the Pirate Ship. Unlike the other sub-stages in the game, the entrance moves between three locations: E-5 (near Entryway Slope), H-6 (to the west of Deep Valley), and E-9 (at the very southern edge of the Great Drop-off). Ship's Rest is also different in that it can be accessed immediately after discovering its entrance. If the player chooses to explore most of the map before advancing the story, then Ship's Rest could potentially be the second sub-stage they discover.
Contrary to popular belief, completing the Pirate Compass is not required to get to this area. The compass is simply there to help players find the ship's exact positions. The only prerequisites to unlocking this locale are to explore at least 60% of the main map, have exited the Great Aqua Cave at least once, and receive an email about an alleged Ghost Ship.
There are two static treasures that can be found in Ship's Rest, the Chinese Porcelain and the Gold Artifact; each of them is split into four pieces, and has an interesting story to tell.
Spots[]
[]
The Wreck of the Navier is the main attraction to this area. It is a large shipwreck, with two entrances, one at the top where a boiler was, and one in a gash in the side of the ship. Occasionally, Magu Tapa swims overtop of the wreck. Pieces of the Chinese Porcelain and Gold Artifact surround the ship as well. Only the bow of the ship can be seen, the rest of the ship is either buried or elsewhere and is inaccessible in game.
[]
Inside the Navier has two levels to explore, with several staircases connecting them. It is home to a variety of sea creatures that have taken refuge inside, most notably banded houndsharks and Japanese angelsharks. The player can also find pieces of the Chinese Porcelain plate and the Gold Artifact strewn inside the ship. This remains the only shipwreck in the entire series that can be explored on the inside.
Fighter Wreckage[]
The Fighter Wreckage is a point of intrigue found a bit to the south of the main ship; what type of airplane it is is up for debate. This ruined aircraft now houses several species of fish in its various nooks and crannies, and a few fragments of the aforementioned Chinese Porcelain plate and Gold Artifcat can be found lying in zoom-mode glow spots along the sand. During certain months of the year, glow spots in coordinates I-7 - slightly to the east - are home to blotchy swell sharks, either in the form of eggs or young sharks. Additionally, an orca swims above the wreckage once it has been unlocked.
Pirate Ship[]
The Pirate Ship acts as the sole means of transport between Manoa Lai and Ship's Rest, via a hole in its hull. Its coordinates in Manoa Lai are always changing between E-5, H-6, and E-9, but it remains centered at coordinates E-3 in Ship's Rest. It does not seem to have a crew, thus leaving how it operates a complete mystery. Most of the local life does not coalesce around this ship, though a school of great white sharks can be seen patrolling beneath it.
Dialogue[]
When the player first finds Ship's Rest, Katherine will attempt to contact them over the radio. However, an unknown source of interference only allows a partial message through before all forms of communication go dead. The few lines Kat can deliver go as follows:
"...might not... ...an't find you... Hey, wa... ...hear me...
Signal...getting jammed...
What... Can't hear... careful...
.."
When the player returns to the Gabbiano, Kat will comment on their discovery, which means that it can reasonably be assumed that she could still receive feed from the player's camera, though voice communication was jammed:
"I'd heard rumors about ocean graveyards like that one, but I never thought I'd see it here in Manoa Lai.
...What? You haven't heard of them? Seriously?
Yeah, there are places like that all over the world. Everyone knows about the Bermuda Triangle, but there's also one called Myojin Reef near Japan. Pretty spooky, huh? And of course it raises all kinds of questions. Like...how did the ships sink? And why are they here in the first place? There's gotta be a reason. Currents or geomagnetism or...something.
Listen, we can't call that an ocean graveyard. It creeps me out. Let's call it "Ship's Rest." That's kinda nice. You're probably the first diver to go there, so watch out, OK?"

Notes[]
- Ship's Rest is the only map in the series that allows the player to explore a shipwreck from the inside.
- This is reminiscent of Arika's Everblue series, in which the player can enter and explore various wrecks with multiple floors.
- Ship's Rest is one of only two maps in Endless Ocean to not house any rideable creatures, the other being the Great Aqua Cave.
- The fact that Magu Tapa and the resident Orca replace each other depending on the time of day could be a reference to the real-world "rivalry" between orcas and great white sharks, who are both known as the ocean's top predators, and have even been known to fight each other.
