This fish looks like the silver chimaera but sports a more pronounced snout. It lives in the depths of the ocean and has larger eyes than other sharks. With a total length of 1.3 m, females of the species tend to be greater in size than males. The way it swims, with its pectoral fins flapping up and down, makes it look like it is flying.

This Pacific spookfish has an unusual golden body. It's been said that if you were to shine a light on it deep underwater, the fish would reflect the light and twinkle like a distant star.
