The Beluga partner, a beluga with flower patterns, is the fifth befriendable partner in Endless Ocean 2, encountered during the Be the Best Trainer quest.
Description
In-Game
"The singing beluga you befriended in the Arctic.
It seems to have a penchant for fine arts and often finds artwork like paintings or rings."
Appearance
This beluga appears just like others of their species, aside from the fact that they have pinkish-grey markings resembling petals and flowers along their back and underside, starting at their head and extending about halfway down their body.
History
The player is given no backstory concerning this specific beluga. This includes a lack of explanation for markings that look so clearly like flowers - it is unknown if the markings are a simple lucky genetic mutation or if they are somehow unnatural.
Befriending
How to Befriend
After the player has put on twenty dolphin shows or trained their Dolphin Partners 100 times, Finley (the main instigator of the Be the Best Trainer quest) will show up and tell the player about this strange beluga.
Once Finley alerts them, the player can go to the North Coast of Canada to find this creature, swimming around the southwestern-most breathing hole. The player has to play the Sea Whistle for them in order to gain their curiosity. Once the beluga is curious, they will swim up to the player and start singing to them. The player has to play the Sea Whistle three times in tandem with the beluga's singing in order to gain their friendship.
Quest Description
The quest concerning this beluga is titled "Beluga in the Arctic Ocean". When first unlocked, it states:
"According to Finley, there is a beluga in the southwest Arctic Ocean."
After the player investigates the first time, the notebook is updated with:
"You found the beluga near the breathing hole in the southwest, and Jean-Eric asked you to focus in on it and get more information."
Once the player successfully uses the Sea Whistle to gain the beluga's trust, the notebook will conclude with:
"You used the sea whistle to befriend the beluga!"
