Alfred Thorman is a character in Endless Ocean. He is the head of the Pelago branch of the Marianas Foundation, and frequently sends the player emails.

Alfred is responsible for sending the player emails asking them to complete certain tasks, which forward the plot once completed. These include carrying out a survey of the Coral Forest area, exploring the Abyss using the attached special air mixture, and researching the migratory routes of whale sharks around Mo'ia Atoll. He gets the player in contact with several other professionals throughout the course of the game, mostly to discuss certain salvages they pick up, and notably to analyze the Stone Monuments found in the Underwater Ruins of Mo'ia Atoll.
On one occasion, he denies a billing request that Katherine sent to the foundation for some expensive equipment, as she did not provide a reason for needing it, and he believed it was not necessary for their current assignments. This angers Katherine, and leads to her refusing to speak to the player for a time. Once she opens up to the player after they find a memento from her father, Alfred is able to help Katherine fulfill her life mission by relaying analysis of the whale tissue sample collected in the Abyss, and subsequently sending the previously requested expensive equipment - five cutting-edge marine sonar probes.
He also sends emails about other miscellaneous subjects, such as alerting the player to current Tanga Days taking place, creature spawning events, and relaying Pelago superstitions. He sends new gear and hairstyles to the player as rewards for completing guide and photo requests.

Though he has no dialogue in person, through his emails to the player it can be surmised that Alfred is a polite, well-spoken man. He has many connections to people in disparate fields, useful for learning new information about certain salvages. According to his description in the official guidebook, he also has a good sense of humor.

- Alfred is married to a woman named Aubrey Thorman. She also works for the foundation, and is responsible for sending guide requests and client reviews of said requests to the player.
